Journey to the Past

How's everyone doing? I finally got wired again, after several days of stress [we haven't really started our vacation, we spent time resolving a lot of stuff I left behind, seeing friends and family, and preparing for the wedding--so why am I doing this again? :-)] and being disconnected from the internet and everything that is Vancouver.

I have to say, it's really strange to be back in Manila. I'm getting a sort of reverse-culture shock with a lot of things that used to be so familiar. I sorely miss Vancouver. I'm sorry, Vancouver is home to me now--I want to be away from the ceaseless noise and traffic!

My brother told me a huge part of myself needed to do this: in order for me to move on, I must go back and have my closure with the place I used to call home. Only then I can go forward and embrace the culture of the place I now call home.

How very zen.

I miss everyone--seems like yesterday we were bawling our eyes out at Compass. ;-) Hope to see you guys when I get back.

Hey Nelz,

I agree with your brother, in trying to get some closure and acceptance or acknowledgement for yourself is a good thing (ick, I sound like Martha Stewart, 'it's a good thing'). Acknowledge any feelings you have and give yourself understanding and compassion, then accept the change, I think that will help bring the zen or closure for you. Most of all, enjoy every moment for what it is :-)

I miss you too! we won't get to see you a another few weeks yet, but have a blast for each and everyone of us. a few of us are going through deep changes too here back home... we'll get together when you get back to catch up.

Keep smilin'
Kai
